Genius Printing is sponsoring a massive art exhibition in April 2010...and YOU can be involved.
This is our way of saying a big thank-you to the arts community that has supported Genius Printing over the years. We will be selecting 50 of our favourite entries to be exhibited for 2 weeks at a premier gallery space in the heart of Melbourne's artistic hub... the Brunswick Street Gallery.
Over $10,000 worth of prizes are up for grabs
HOW DO I ENTER?
This competition is open to everyone. Simply upload your image through the Genius Printing website following the Exhibition Competition link ("Enter Now") at the bottom of this page.
As part of the entry process, you will need to:
- Read all the details on this page before entering.
- Nominate a product (Acrylic or Canvas), size, and approve the online proof - just like you would a normal order.
- Nominate how many copies you are willing to sell (from one to unlimited).
- Nominate the sale price of your artwork inclusive of GST. Remember, there is a 22% gallery commission (plus 2% credit card fee if applicable).
- Please consider the cost of printing when nominating your sale price. The first one, displayed at the exhibition, is printed free of charge. All subsequent sales will be printed 'on demand' by Genius Printing. We will offer 10% off our printing prices to print your artwork.

IS THERE AN ENTRY FEE?
- An entry fee of $20 per submitted image will ensure you are in the running to win a position in the exhibition.
- There are discounts for entering more than one image into the competition:
1 entry: $20
2 entries: $40 ($20 each)
3 entries: $50 ($16 each)
4 entries: $66 ($16 each)
5 entries: $70 ($14 each)
6 or more: $14 each
- You can enter as many images as you like into the competition.
- We charge an entry fee to help cover the expense of the holding the two week exhibition.
WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?
There is a prize pool of around $10,000 in prizes. The main prize is having your work printed for free and being exhibited for two weeks in a group exhibition.

MY ARTWORK HAS BEEN SELECTED FOR THE EXHIBITION - WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?
All participating artists in Image Essentials 2010 will need to:
- Pay a $65 Hanging Fee. Remember, all entrants automatically receive a 10% off Genius Printing discount voucher AND the winners get a $50 Genius Printing voucher as well. Also, the printing of your exhibited work is done for FREE. The hanging fee covers the costs of liaising with you to finalise the print / transport / insurance / hanging / etc.
- Provide a short blurb about themselves of no more than 50 words. The blurb should consist of your name, your contact details (web link if relevant), the type of work you do, any previous highlights in your artistic career / hobby.
- Provide a short blurb about the art to be exhibited. The blurb should consist of the title, artwork description, medium / method of creation.
TERMS & CONDITIONS
- All artworks must be wholly original and the work of the artist.
- All artworks must photographic art or digitally created art, or a combination of both.
- Entries close Midnight, Sun 14th Mar 2010.
- While you select the product and size you'd like your entry to be printed at, we reserve the right to change the product and / or size in consultation with you.
- If you are selected to participate in this exhibition, there is a $65 Hanging Fee. Remember, all entrants automatically receive a 10% off Genius Printing discount voucher AND the winners get a $50 Genius Printing voucher as well. Also, the printing of your exhibited work is done for FREE. The hanging fee covers the costs of liaising with you to finalise the print / transport / insurance / hanging / etc.
- You can sell several limited edition prints of your artwork. All sales must be printed by Genius Printing at your expense. The first one, displayed at the exhibition, is printed free of charge, and we will offer 10% off our printing prices to print further copies of the artwork.
- Genius Printing reserves the right to reproduce (in digital or printed form), your artwork for any promotional material. If we use your image in digital form, your image will either be small or watermarked to protect from copying.
- If you do not sell your artwork, the unsold artwork will be available for purchase by the artist at a 75% discount from our usual printing RRP.
- If you do not want to purchase your artwork after the exhibition it will remain the property of Genius Printing.
- Genius Printing can reject any entry for whatever reason. Entry fees will be refunded.
