Judging Criteria
We are accepting an unlimited number of entries into the competition. 50 of the best, as determined by our judges will be printed and hung at Brunswick Street Gallery for a 2 week exhibition. They will also be displayed in our online gallery.
- The selected 50 images will comprise a variety of photography & digitial art, from existing Genius Printing clients and the general public
- All images are judged blind. This means that no names, locations or identifying elements are shown during the judging process. Judges do not know who submitted the image they are judging
- Each image will be scored out of 10 by 4 separate judges
- The 4 scores will be totalled to produce a final score out of 40
- The highest 50 scoring images will win the main prize and be exhibited in the exhibition.
- In the case of tied positions the judges will judge the tied images again in a second round of judging
- You can enter as many times as you like however Genius Printing reserves the right to award no more than one winning entry per person
- The judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into

Tyson Wray
Art Editor of Beat Magazine
Tyson Wray is the current Art Editor of Beat Magazine; a Melbourne based magazine that covers the cultural scene with all it entails in Melbourne, and recently celebrated their 25th anniversary. Tyson writes on all things music and art, and has a keen eye for contemporary details. His editorial skills will ensure sharp competition in selection of our 50 Pure Genius winners.

Gavin Blue
Past President of ACMP and award-winning photographer
For over 20 years, Gavin's personal and creative approach has earned him a reputation of producing truly outstanding images for the advertising, editorial and corporate markets delivered with excellent customer service.
Based in Melbourne, Gavin's clients include QANTAS, Telstra, Australia Post, Fonterra, Tourism Victoria, Suzuki, Singapore Power, Sunday Life Magazine, Financial Review Magazine, KPMG, National Australia Bank, Mercedes Trucks and Boeing to name a few.
He is especially sought after for his People Photography. Subjects include CEO's of multinational companies, Politicians, Olympic Athletes, Actors, Celebrities and even Australia's Croquet Champion.
Wanting to do more than just take pictures, Gavin was highly active in the professional association the Association of Australian, Commercial and Media Photographers (the ACMP) and just retired as the president. Furthermore, for seven years he was the Chairman of the Fuji ACMP Australian Photographers Collection which is the most prestigious and hotly contested National Photographic Award in the country.

Donna Bailey
Award-winning photographer
Bailey is known for her striking images of young people, including her own children, set in the open, granite countryside and box ironbark bushland that surround her central Victorian home.
Within this environment she explores themes of girlhood, boyhood, young parenthood, regional life and the drought.
Bailey has exhibited her large-scale photographs across Australia since the late 1990s. Her work has been shown at leading galleries, including The Australian Centre for Photography, the Art Gallery of NSW, the National Gallery of Victoria, the Centre for Contemporary Photography, Monash Gallery of Art, Monash University Museum of Art, Stills Gallery, Bendigo Art Gallery and many regional galleries throughout Australia.
Bailey was a finalist in the Centre for Contemporary Photography Documentary Photography Award and Exhibition in 1999 and 2003, the Energex Contemporary Art Prize in 2004, the National Photographic Purchase Award in 2003 and 2005, the Citigroup Private Bank Australian Photographic Portrait Prize in 2005, the Olive Cotton Award in 2005, the J Ulrick and W Schubert Photography Award in 2004 and 2005, the Adelaide University Visual Art Prize in 2006, the W & W Bowness Photography Prize in 2007 and 2009, and the City of Hobart Art Prize in 2007.
Awards and grants include an Arts Victoria, Arts Development Grant in 2009, Regional Arts Victoria Grant in 2006, Adelaide University Visual Arts Prize in 2006, NAVA Visual and Craft Artists Grant in 2005, National Photographic Purchase Award in 2003 and 2005, and an Australian Post Graduate Award in 2003.
Bailey's works are held in the collections of the National Gallery of Victoria, Monash Gallery of Art, Monash University Museum of Art, the FM Curtis Collection at La Trobe University, Adelaide University, Bendigo Art Gallery, Albury Regional Art Gallery as well as in private collections.

Ross Calia
Award-winning Artist & Photographer
Ross Calia is a Melbourne-based artist working across both music and photography. His work has been widely awarded, both locally and internationally. With an impressive list of achievements to his name including consecutive wins at the Kodak Salon in 2010 and 2011 for Best Documentary Photograph and winning the single-image advertising category at the ACMP Projections, Ross and his work have most recently been featured in the Aesthetica (UK) International Creative Works Annual for 2012.
His personal work focuses on the human condition and he is most sought after for his editorial and advertising work shooting people. His images have featured in publications and campaigns for iconic brands both locally and internationally
