A proof is when you can see a representation of what your photo will look like on the canvas. This is done so you can check that the cropping, the wrapping style, the effects you've applied all work together before you submit your order. A digital or online proof is called a 'soft proof' which is different to a printed proof (hard proof).
So you don't have to sit around waiting for your proof to arrive by email, our Smart Uploader generates an instant, online soft proof, so you can see it in your web browser.
Colour varies on different computer screens so there is always the potential for variances, even with colour calibration, some computer screens are physically incapable of displaying particular shades of colour that your digital camera can capture, or that our pigment printers can print, meaning that a soft proof can only be indicative of the colour accuracy of the printed result.
So, the online proof should not be treated as exactly colour-accurate and our money back guarantee does not cover any issues with colour accuracy.
The solution to this problem is to place an order through our specialist service, Tonal Repro, where 'hard proofs' will be printed for you.
We take a section of your image and print it at full size, along with the entire image at approx 7" x 5". We then send it to you for your approval. That way, you can exactly check colour accuracy and the level of detail on the printed surface.
Whatever your specialist needs are, Tonal Reproductions can accommodate.
