A decade of experience in the industry means we know what to look out for. Laminate, colour management and canvas tensioning are three key examples of common mistakes.
Inexperienced canvas printers incorrectly apply laminate. Laminate applied with anything other than an automated spray-laminator using the exact procedure results in an uneven coating with smears appearing on the canvas. Some canvas printers incorrectly believe laminate is not even necessary, because the canvas is resistant to fading from ultra-violet (UV) light, but that's not even the reason laminate is used!
Canvas printers that have not been in the industry for very long don't realise the importance of correctly colour managed equipment. Every computer monitor, every scanner, every printer is colour calibrated using independent testing equipment to ensure the best colour reproduction possible.
A canvas that is not stretched correctly will sag on the frame after a short time, making it look very poor. Like most things, the only way to know how to do something right is to have loads of experience and canvas stretching is no exception. Corners must be neat and fastened tightly.
Every stage of canvas printing has things to look out for, little pitfalls that need to be avoided. Even something as simple as the optimal location of the staples on the canvas. If you want a canvas that looks great and lasts a long long time, make sure you use an experienced printer. Make sure you use Genius Printing.
